FESTIVAL DONOR/SPONSOR INFORMATION

On March 26-27, 2010, Highland High School and Arizona State University will present the first Annual Highland Jazz Festival. Grammy Award winning saxophonist Bob Mintzer, and Wycliffe Gordon, ASCAP Foundation Vanguard winning trombonist will headline the weekend of jazz education. This jazz festival will span the entire southwest reaching over 1,800 students, music educators, and general public throughout Arizona, Southern California, Texas, Nevada and New Mexico.

The Southwest is in great need of a major jazz festival. There are very large jazz festivals throughout the states, but the southwest is seriously lacking anything close in scope to what the rest of the country takes for granted. Gilbert is the ideal central location for hosting the Annual Highland Jazz Festival. The goal is to start out as a festival hosting 40 student bands and over time, grow to encompass as many as 100!

We need to raise at least $30,000 for this ground breaking event. Please help us reach our goal with a generous donation. Please refer to our Business, Corporate, and Institutional Donation Level Form or the Personal/Individual Donation Level Form for information on the different levels and services we provide for you. Please remember that your contribution does more than support a jazz festival, it supports over 400 students and a music program that has very little funding. Our boosters are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and some or all of your donation may be tax deductible.

If you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to call Lewis Nelson at the Highland School Music Department at (480) 813-0051 Ext. 4421. You can also download the Highland Jazz Festival Donation Form here.

Your donation will be supporting our youth, our culture, and the Gilbert community, as well as supporting and preserving one of America’s greatest and most original art forms, JAZZ! Jazz has deep roots in our culture and it has a great impact on all the music that we currently enjoy.

Thank you in advance for your support.
